MEET THE FOUNDER

KIM PRICE

I am a licensed Interior Designer by NCIDQ in the State of Florida, with more than 20 years of experience in many different areas of interior design.

During my early years in the industry, I designed and specified office furniture and space planning for corporations such as SunTrust & Siemens headquarters, among others, also working with designers to incorporate Knoll Studio products, which introduced me to high-end designed furniture.

Along the way, my work moved on to interior and some architectural drafting for residential and commercial designs, locally and for South American and Caribbean projects. Moving on, I collaborated with a talented team of branding packages, specifically for interiors and graphics for an American chain restaurant.

Ultimately, I ended up at Walt Disney Imagineering, where I started my experience with immersive interiors work for Disney Cruise Line in Germany.

Founder, Principal Interior Designer

My vision as an interior designer is to accomplish spaces and furniture designs that makes guests feel things and create an impact visually and emotionally.

I worked with world-renowned interior design firms helping to coordinate and manage their designs and vastly the FF&E production and procurement management for public spaces, nightclubs, restaurants, as well as the Staterooms and Suites for the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, assisting in bringing them to life.

After the DCL projects, I moved on to Florida-based designs with WDI. I have led interiors teams to design for Disney Hotels and Resorts, projects including spas, lobbies, the wedding chapel, restaurants, bars, and resort rooms and suites, and also DCL Dry Dock re-designs. I have experience in project management for interiors for WDW Resorts, including the DVC rehab for rooms and lobby for the Polynesian Village Resort and the brand-new bungalows on Seven Seas Lagoon, FF&E coordination, production and procurement management for the Coronado Springs Resort’s Grand Destino Tower, among other Interior projects.

I am now the Owner and Principal Designer for KAP Studio, an interior and furniture design firm. KAP Studio was created to expand into new horizons and new realms of projects, from hospitality, commercial, and residential designs to furniture design and branding, pushing the envelope to have a successful, inspiring, on target, and purposeful completed project.

My vision as an interior designer is to accomplish spaces and furniture designs that makes guests feel things and create an impact visually and emotionally. Both of my current ventures are focused on bringing interior designs and furniture designs to a different level and experience; as well as being involved in the design community and industry spherically in many directions.

MEET THE TEAM

MARISSA BLAKE

As an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer, I craft stories through the built environment that both take you to a different atmosphere and change your mood. Path, color, lighting and scale are just a few of these tools sculpted within a space to create unique memories for each user. Whether the story is discrete or apparent, curating these moments trigger the senses and subconscious. I am a storyteller. I am an artist.

I expanded my skills as a storyteller through my Master’s Degree in Interior Design from Savannah, College of Art and Design (SCAD). With over 15 years of experience, I have worked in all sectors—hospitality, commercial, corporate, healthcare, government—as the client, client representative and designer.

Over the course of my well-rounded career, I have worked with a major architecture firm working on projects for Disney World, Universal Resort and SeaWorld. I was also a contractor with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI). Major projects with WDI include the Royal Sommerhus at Norway Pavilion in Epcot, Pandora at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom, Skipper’s Canteen in Magic Kingdom, and a Land Pavilion restroom re-design in Epcot. In 2017, I oversaw the design of 300 renovated rooms, four expansive suites, 26 cabins along the water and a new restaurant as an Interior Design Manager at the Wilderness Lodge. I have also brought my storytelling skills to the Shedd Aquarium as an exhibit designer, working on the current renovation of the entire campus and to the Obama Foundation contributing to the Obama Presidential Center.

Throughout my career, I have remained connected to the industry through volunteering for the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). I currently sit on the International Board of Directors for the TEA.

At KAP Studio, I bring these stories to life through the project needs and clients’ requests.
